Love Romance? Love Reading? Love Authors? Then you would have LOVED the inaugural Newcastle Book Boyfriend Author Event!
Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending the book signing, hosted by local authors Kay Maree and Penny Blush. I was ecstatic to receive an invitation to sign at the event located in my little corner of the world at the NEX building. Plus, being an event focused solely on book boyfriends (aka the romance genre), this signing was right up my alley (I'm pretty sure I walked out with more books than what I walked in with — whoops).
It was amazing to see so many familiar faces as readers from previous signings attended, as well as meet new readers who'd travelled from places as far as Queensland and New Zealand just to attend. Moreso, I enjoyed getting to catch up with old friends, making new ones, as well as chatting with my peers and being able to pass on my expertise as so many of my fellow romance writers have done for me over the years.
This event was extra special to me because I was also fortunate enough to be able to attend the author drinks event, something I haven't been able to do at my other signings thus far. And I got to hang out with some of my fellow Romance Writers of Australia friends who were in town for the weekend.
